WWNY/WNYF-TV WINS 3 AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE
WWNY/WNYF-TV is pleased to announce that is has been awarded three separate honors by the New York State Broadcasters Association in the 51st Excellence in Broadcasting competition. The station received awards in three categories:
- T1 - BEST COMMERCIAL for "Tonia Mackenzie-Grieving Mother," which was produced for the Alliance for Better Communities and focused on the tragedies of drug addiction and overdose.
- T3 - BEST PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT/CAMPAIGN for "#ListenNNY", which was written and produced by and with local area high school students to create awareness and discussion on topics like bullying and stress that affect the daily lives of teenagers. This program was made possible with support from AAMCO Transmissions in Watertown.
- T-6 - BEST HARD NEWS STORY for "The closing of Climax" which detailed the sudden closing of the Climax Manufacturing plant in Lewis County and how it impacted the employees who found themselves without jobs.
